What is CULTURAL FITNESS?
At Roots, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is far more than just a fight sport. It's an art form, a way to express ones self, a practical method of self defense and an extremely functional style of strength & conditioning. Using BJJ as our platform, we added Primal Flow (Bodyweight exercise) and F.I.T. (Functional Interval Training). Both of which are conditioning supplements to BJJ and the culture of its competitors. To balance the ground fighting art with striking we naturally host Capoeira, a rhythm based, dance style striking art indigenous to Brazil. Also, we will be adding Muay Thai (Thai Boxing) classes. Both of these striking arts have been paired with BJJ for over a hundred years in the fighting culture.
All of our classes fall under our "CULTURAL FITNESS" umbrella when put under one roof.
